All information regarding holiday breaks, fee due dates, costumes, performances, and performance protocol is posted on our website. We DO NOT send home notes with your children. Please check the website at least once a month. If you have questions please call the office for clarification. Please make sure we always have a current email address for you as we occasionally email important dates.

ATTENDANCE: There will be no refunds on tuition for missed lessons. Your tuition reserves your spot in the class. Make-up lessons are available and must be made up between 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after the class missed. Zoom class links/class recordings will be provided, upon request, for make up classes, as well. A Class Schedule is posted on this website to help you determine make-up classes or email in for zoom links/recordings. Dancers must be in class the 2 week before a performance, in order to be prepared to perform.
ILLNESS AND SAFETY: Due to recent events, AED has made the health/ illness policy more specific. Dancers are not allowed at the studio with any of the following health issues; fever, cough, aches, chills, sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, labored breathing, loss of taste or smell, stomach ache, diarrhea, throwing up, pink eye, molluscum, athlete's feet. Dancers need to be symptom free for 1 full week before returning to class. Make up classes are available, as explained above. Have dancers ALWAYS wash/sanitize hands upon arrival and once returning home, from classes. Studio will continue to be sanitzed between classes.
COMPETITION TEAM ATTENDANCE: If your child is in a jazz company they are allowed 3 absences from September-December, and 3 absences from January-May. If more
classes are missed the student will be removed from all competition routines. Students are also allowed to miss 1 competition rehearsal. If more are missed they will be removed from all dances. No
refund on costumes, rehearsal or competition fees will be given..
CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE: If a student is 15 minutes late (or more), they must ask the instructor if they can participate. The student will have missed warm-up and could be injured. The teacher has the right to refuse participation and have the student sit and watch. If the student is allowed to participate, AED and all staff members are not responsible if the student is injured. PLEASE BE ON TIME. If a student’s behavior becomes inappropriate, they will receive one warning and then be asked to sit and watch. If the problem continues the parent will be notified. If the problem still continues, the student will not be allowed to dance at AED. We believe respect of classmates and teachers is vital to a positive experience.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Tuition is due before the 15 of each month. A $10 late fee will be assessed to your account after the 15th. A credit card is required to be on file on each family account. Your credit card will be charged on the 16th of each month for all past due balances including tuition, costumes, recital fees, competition/convention fees. If your account becomes 30 days past due for any reason, your child will not be allowed to participate.
COSTUMES: Costumes are ordered in early fall of each year. Costumes are used for Winter and Spring Recitals. Costume prices are between $75-$125, depending on the age of your child and style of their costume. Company costume prices range between $100-$175. The $30 costume deposit paid at registration will be credited to the final costume invoice in September.
DROP OFF/PICK UP:
DRAPER: For the safety of your child, please do not drop off or pick up students on 700 East. After class has concluded, students must stay inside the building until their parent is in the parking lot. Please be on time to pick up your child. The studio is not responsible for your child after the class has concluded. It is impossible to watch your child while teaching our next class. If you are more than 15 minutes late you will receive a warning. The next time you are late you will be charged a $10 late pick up fee.
RIVERTON: For the safety of your child, please do not let child walk through the parking lot alone. The front parking stalls will be for drop off and pick up only. If you choose to stay, please park away from the building.. As you pull in and out for drop off and pick up, please be very aware, stay off your cell phones, and watch for small children. Please be on time to pick up your child. The studio is not responsible for your child after the class has concluded. It is impossible to watch your child while teaching our next class. If you are more that 15 minutes late you will receive a warning. The next time you are 15 minutes or more late you will be charged a $10 late pick up fee.
Parents are allowed to view classes one week per month. We rotate studios to help with the congestion in the waiting rooms. If your child is having anxiety with you leaving or you feel you need to attend more frequently, please inform the office to make arrangements. All viewing must be done from the waiting room. No parents are allowed in the class rooms for any reason, as it is distracting to the children in the class.
DRAPER: Week 1: Studio A, Week 2: Studio B, Week 3: Studio C, Week 4: Studio D
(Waiting rooms are located upstairs and downstairs. Studio D must be viewed on the TV in the Waiting room)
RIVERTON: Week 1: Studio 1, Week 2: Studio 2, Week 3: Studio 3 Week 4: Closed
(Waiting room for viewing is located in the front of the building, in studio waiting rooms are for students only, no parents are allowed to watch in the classrooms)
**STUDENTS MUST BE DRESSED PROPERLY IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. HAIR IS INCLUDED. IF THEY ARE NOT
DRESSED PROPERLY THEY WILL BE ASKED TO SIT AND WATCH.

JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY:
Jazz pants/tights/Spanky shorts
Tan jazz shoes ages 5-11/Foot undeez or Lyrical Shoes Teen classes
**any color leotard is allowed, black is recommended
Hair must be in a bun or pony tail
TUMBLING: Leotard, Biketard, bare feet, Hair in pony tail/pulled back NO JEWELRY

for Winter and Spring Recitals
Always arrive with hair and make-up ready for performance:
Ballet: Hair must be slicked back in a low bun with no bangs. Short hair must be pulled back as much as possible.
- Use a hair net on your bun to ensure it will not fall out.
- Do not add extra bows, curls, or hair pieces. We are trying to achieve a uniform look.
Jazz/Tumbling/Contemporary/Hip Hop*: Hair must be slicked back in a low ponytail with no bangs. Short hair must be pulled back as much as possible.
*Hip Hop: Hair may be determined by teacher. Otherwise, go with the ponytail.
If you have more than one dance and have quick costume changes.....your hair needs to stay in a bun. We will not wait for you to change your hair.
- Make up is recommended for all dancers
- False eyelashes recommended for ages 8 and up.
- Please wear Red/Maroon Lipstick
- Check and double check for all costume pieces and both shoes before leaving for the performances
- Please cover up costume as much as possible before you enter the drop off area. It is very un-professional to be seen in your costume before the performance. If you need to re-enter the audience, please cover up before you exit the stage area.
Parents are NOT allowed in the holding area or backstage. If your child has an issue and needs you...we will find you. Students will be seated with their class until their time to perform. Please take all belongings with you after dropping your student off at the holding area. Dancers under the age of 10 need to be picked up at the end of their section of the recital by a parent in the designated holding area (NORTH HALLWAY) . All dancers 10 and up will be allowed to find you following the show. Please designate a meeting spot.
It must be silent back stage. No running, jumping or horsing around will be allowed in the holding area. Older students are expected to follow the rules or will not be allowed to perform. This is for their safety and the safety of others.
Performance attire for non-company classes ages
~Ballet and Ballet/Jazz Combo Classes ages 2-7: Ballet Pink Tights, Ballet Pink
Ballet Shoes, hair in low bun, makeup is recommended (lipstick, blush,
& mascara...if possible)
~Ballet Classes ages 8-up: Ballet Pink Tights, Ballet Pink Ballet Shoes, hair in low bun, makeup is recommended.
~Jazz Classes: Tan Tights, hair in low ponytail or bun. Tan Gore boots for ages 5-11 classes. Foot undeez or lyrical shoes for teen classes.
~Tap/Jazz Combo Classes: Tan Tights, Ballet Pink Ballet Shoes, Black Tap Shoes hair in low ponytail.
~Hip Hop Classes: Tennis shoes (color depends on class..ask instructor), hair ponytail if not determined otherwise by instructor. makeup is recommended.
Performance attire for company classes:
~Ballet: Ballet Pink Revolution tights and shoes from AED store (AED's tights and shoes look peach), wear cover ups (black company rompers)
Hair: slicked back into a low bun, hair parted above the left eye, part is the
length of index finger. Please use hair nets for a clean secure bun (which can be purchases at Dollar Stores, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Harmon's, Sally's, etc. along with eyelash glue if needed).
Makeup: False eyelashes company make up for all competitions and performances
Accessories: Company Earrings, eyelash glue, and if your costume has a hair piece or choker...please remember it.
